Pictures and Story

Hey Everyone,

Early in the morning our nurse came in and told Emily she needed some medicine. After getting the shot we got the story. When Emily was having multiple contractions in a row Hunter's heart rate would slow. That's sub-optimal, so to speak. So the shot she got, stopped her contractions. Hunter had been slowing down on every contraction so they were worried about his strength and health. Emily also hadn't progressed very far. The decision was to go in after Hunter. Never leave a man behind! The fall back and regroup plan was over, now was time for action. Obviously Emily and I were pretty scared and in a bit of a whirlwind. After everything had calmed down and Hunter was out we found out that the cord was wrapped around his neck, twice! The only way he was coming along was out the front, which if you ask Emily was how he had been trying for a bit. But by the time it was over we had beautiful Bouncing Baby Boy. Hunter is healthy and happy and so is Mom. Now, for the part everybody wants.

Here are the pictures folks.
Mom and Baby meet for the first time.
The whole Family together for the first time.

The big weigh in, at 7bs 11 oz
Measured in at 20.75"

Look at all the hair on that Kid! He's gonna be fighting this hair due his whole life. Or maybe just 6 months till it all falls out and new stuff grows back. Thanks to all for the comments and the well wishes and thoughts.

WOW guys, Hunter is gorgeous! And I love that name, btw. It works very well with your family name. :)

Sorry to hear that the C-section was necessary. I was talking to my mom last night and she mentioned that it was probably going to be the case with Emily's water breaking so early. But man, that's scary about the cord wrapping around the little guy's neck. No wonder everyone was having a hard time! Glad that Hunter and his Mommy are doing well, and thank you to Hunter's Daddy for the updates!

Congrats Mom and Dad! Yes, it takes a while to get used to those names, its been 13 years and it still catches me off guard. Sorry to hear the delivery was so "eventful", but everything that ends well is good. (That could be a parent mantra) Great pics, the whole family had a look over breakfast this morning. Stephanie(10) pronounced him sooo cuuute and Rachel(13) showed a glimmer of life and a partial nod, which before 9am is basically unbridled joy. Best wishes for speedy healing for Mom, congrats again, and welcome to life, part 2.
